IH-111 RADIOLOGICAL FIELD FOOD TESTER APPLICATIONS Determination of consumability of foods and drinks following nuclear incident Determination of radioactive concentration in samples Automatic qualification of consumability FEATURES Simultaneous determination of beta and gamma radiating materials having short and long half-period, decision: - “Consumable! - “Not consumable! - “At present not consumable! Easily transportable Rapid evaluation Built-in sample-tray dispenser MultiAct software package In the Food-tester device IH-111, developed with MoD Institute of Military Technology, the measuring process and system-technological configuration included in GAMMA Technical Corporation's service invention has been put into practice. According to this we can rapidly obtain several information about the contamination, using one single detector, through the selective measuring of the beta- and gamma radiation of any radioisotopes of fission or activation origin. The principle of the process is the fact that isotopes having characteristically simultaneous beta and gamma radiation, both those with short or long half-period, can be divided into groups in a simple way as a function of their energy. Based on the groups, user can determine the ratio of isotopes having short and long half-period. Comparing the radioactive concentration of the isotopes to the standards you can automatically decide whether the food is consumable or not.
