Description:

The Med-Eng EOD 9 Bomb Suit and EOD 9/9A Helmet ensemble provides industry-leading flexibility for EOD and CBRNe missions. The helmet can be configured in the field by a technician using a Breathing Apparatus (BA) Visor for scenarios where a Chemical or Biological agent is suspected. The EOD 9/9A Helmet offers two camera options built into the visor and set at the optimal viewing angle, as determined through Human Factors Engineering. The Camcorder options records video and audio for review, and the Live Video option transmits video and audio to a command post to support the technician. The EOD 9/9A Helmet also offers an Automated Speech Recognition option that enables the technician to control their helmet’s functions through spoken commands. The EOD 9A Helmet is the world's first EMC Class A Helmet for EOD/IEDD operations. It enables bomb disposal technicians to work with IEDD equipment in an increasingly harsh ECM RF environment and is ideal for operations involving a Radio Controlled IED threat. The advanced design of the EOD 9A Helmet allows it to suppress unwanted signals and stringently control emissions while maintaining the superior blast protection of the Med-Eng EOD 9 Helmet. At least 14 types of testing have been performed to validate the performance of the EOD 9, including extensive live blast testing. The Med-Eng EOD 9 Suit and EOD 9/9A Helmets, when used as a complete ensemble, meet European Council (EC) Directive 89/686/EEC for personal protective equipment. Fragmentation protection is conducted as per MIL-STD-662F and STANAG 2920. Product Details The Med-Eng EOD 9 Bomb Suit includes a Jacket (with Hydration and Emergency Extraction systems), Integrated Groin Protector, Trousers and Boot Covers. The helmet includes a Remote Control unit, Environmental Awareness System and radio connection. Med-Eng offers an optional Body Cooling System; Hand Protection System; and, a Steel Visor for the Helmet. For operations involving the risk of Chemical or Biological agents, an optional Chemical Protective Undergarment and a Breathing Apparatus (BA) Visor are also available. All components have been thoroughly tested for performance and together as an ensemble for integrated operability. This provides the user with a reliable system-based solution.
